Crossgates pub The New Travellers Rest give out 350 Easter eggs for free
A Leeds pub dished out 350 free Easter eggs to their community yesterday (Sunday).
Staff at The New Travellers Rest in Crossgates collected donations from the public and raised funds themselves in order to collect 350 eggs.
They then gave them out for free to anyone who came to see their Easter bunny outside the pub in Crossgates Lane.
Landlady Vicky Chisholm said: "The bunny was out on our terrace, but it escaped at one point though and had a little dance on Crossgates roundabout!
"It was lovely to see the kids all excited yesterday, they've missed a lot this last year."
The pub also raised £100 for their weekly homeless outreach.
Vicky praised the efforts of her "amazing staff" through lockdown.
They have also organised school lunches for children during the holidays, Christmas hampers, food parcels, and the pub has been turned into a homeless outreach storage space.
Vicky added: "Things have been difficult for us in hospitality, but I figure if we've food in our tummies and a roof over our heads, we'll survive."
