Why volunteers have been crucial during pandemic - the YEP says

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our communities.

They are the unsung heroes who selflessly go about their work - often with little recognition for the important contribution they make.

This week marks Volunteers’ Week and today we are launching our Big Thank You campaign to recognise the efforts of those who have gone above and beyond for their communities during the pandemic.

Leeds is incredibly lucky to have such a strong army of volunteers.

When the plea went out at the start of the crisis from Voluntary Action Leeds nobody could have predicted the sheer groundswell of support from those who wanted to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in to support the city’s crisis efforts,

Thousands of people answered the call.

They are carrying out vital work from shopping, dog walking through to welfare checks for the most vulnerable.

Now we need your help to say thank you to show just how much they mean to us.
