Naming the South Stand in memory of Norman Hunter is a champion tribute from Leeds United - the YEP says

The words of Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani sum up the sheer strength of feeling to ensuring that Norman Hunter’s legacy continues to live on at Elland Road.

To say the legend, who died last week after contracting coronavirus, was well loved is nothing short of an understatement.

And the memory of his time at the club – both on and off the pitch – will forever endure.

Norman joins his manager Don Revie and John Charles in being immortalised with a stand named in his honour, while Billy Bremner’s statue stands proudly outside the famous old ground.

It will be nothing short of an emotional return for fans when the football season finally resumes as they take their seats proudly in the Norman Hunter South Stand.

They will be looking to today’s players to honour Norman’s wish for promotion – now that would be a truly champion tribute.
