Why are we not isolating people coming into UK? - YEP letters

Those isolations are mandatory, often with people being bussed directly from the point of arrival to specially set-up units, usually, it seems, for about 14 days.
Living, as we are, on an island, such precautions would seem to be painfully obvious for us.

Now, I’m probably being cynical, but handing every traveller a piece of paper with details of ‘symptoms and ‘how to get help if required’ is hardly top flight precaution measure. However, this government has shown a singularly head-in-the-sand attitude here.
I have never once heard the words ‘isolation of travellers’ from any of the government’s experts. We, on the other hand, are being bombarded from every conceivable angle with pleas to take every possible precaution in all aspects of our daily lives.
One thing is certain for the future - much of this will surely come back to bite the authorities when the next election rears its ugly head.
