In 1972 that master of physical comedy Norman Wisdom was encountered by our photographer in his dressing room before taking to the stage.

Caught in a similar fashion in 1977 was Ossett hero Ted Pickles who was transforming himself into his alter ego Pickles the Clown and in 1968 mega star Dusty Springfield showed off a cuddly little toy.

From Russia With Love to Lupset. Crooner Matt Monro presented YEP pick the spot winners Alfred Hollings and Margaret Houseman with their cheques in 1971.

Matt, of course, topped the bill at the Theatre Club that week.
