New online tennis booking system

Subject to demand, people can now use their computers, laptops, tablets and mobile phones to book a Leeds City Council managed court at eight sites.

Councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s executive member for the environment and sustainability, said: “It is fantastic that through this initiative in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and Go Hit It British Tennis, we can offer tennis lovers in Leeds the chance to book one of our courts located in eight city parks by a simple click of a button on their computer, phone, tablet or laptop.

“In the summer months especially our courts do get very busy, and with this in mind we would ask people to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Council city courts taking part in the scheme include those at Roundhay Park; Springhead Park, Rothwell; Dartmouth Park, Morley; The Hollies; Holt Park; Meanwood Park; Manston Park and Chapel Allerton Park.

Use of tennis courts in Leeds’s parks is traditionally high in the summer months, and it is hoped the new offer by the council with the LTA and Go Hit It British Tennis, will help ensure people are not disappointed.
