Live updates: ongoing incident in Guiseley after 'serious' road crash

Police have reported a “serious” road accident on the A65 in Guiseley, closing the road to traffic.

Officers have warned motorists to avoid the area.

A cyclist has been taken to hospital, following a serious road accident in Guiseley this morning.

A spokesperson from Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “The call came just before 11am this morning.

“There were reports of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.

“An Ambulance, rapid response vehicle and the Air Ambulance attended. The patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.”

According to AA Roadwatch, Traffic on New Road through Guiseley and Yeadon is backing up.

According to West Yorkshire Police, emergency services are in attendance at a “serious road traffic collision” on the A65 New Road, Guiseley.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area as road closures are in place at this time.
