Ever since the group, ‘Five to Five’, won a contract to play a boyband in a new touring musical based on Take That it has been a whirlwind of rehearsals, photoshoots and interviews, but the 23-year-old from Seacroft found time to chat to the Yorkshire Evening Post ahead of a visit home later this week.

He said: “Thank you to all those that voted and supported me in Leeds.

“You have made a lad who grew up in Harehills and later Seacroft realise that dreams can come true if you apply yourself and are willing to never give up and never give in until you reach your finish line.”

There was time for a few beers on Saturday night, he added, but it was straight to work on Sunday with the Take That members themselves, who, he said, had given some tips on being in the limelight.

“I’ve seen them perform live and grew up with that music. To work with them has been an absolute dream for all five of us.

“They have given us some amazing and really thoughtful advice behind closed doors.”

And the next step in the production of the musical is also being kept under wraps.

Curtis added: “It is top secret but they are amazing things which you will hear about soon.

“I will hopefully arrive back home in Leeds midweek but London will be on the cards before the start of our year-long tour.”
