The kitten was taken to Beechwood Vets in Leeds, where surgeon Craig Ritchie saved her life.

Now the family, from Holbeck, have adopted Poppy and are joining the surgery in calling on people to help fund treatment for animals in need.

The vets relies on donations to pay for expensive treatment, and the care it provides, for dozens of stray cats, dogs and other animals that are handed in every week across its four branches in Leeds.
