'It will bring joy to young people': Leeds United charity to benefit from Christmas light trail
They’ve pledged 400 tickets to those supported by the charity
A festive light trail at Temple Newsam will raise money for the Leeds United Foundation as it returns for its winter run under the name The Lost Light of Christmas.
Organisers of Northern Lights say this year’s event will support the official charity of Leeds United Football Club through ticket sales and on-site donations. They have also pledged 400 tickets for people supported by the foundation.
The charity runs programmes aimed at helping young people across Leeds and West Yorkshire, with a focus on education, motivation and support.

Paul Robson, Event Director for Northern Lights said: “We are incredibly proud to be partnering with the Leeds United Foundation and supporting their fantastic work in the city. In our three years at Temple Newsam, Leeds has really embraced Northern Lights and we are always looking for ways to repay the trust placed in us every year.”
Michael Kinsey, Head of Partnerships at the Leeds United Foundation said: “The Leeds United Foundation’s vision is to use the power of Leeds United to create opportunities for young people and their communities to thrive, and this partnership will generate new experiences for many of our young people.
“Northern Lights have committed to providing hundreds of tickets to support groups and individuals who may not otherwise have access to experiences like visiting their Christmas lights and sound trail.
“We’re looking forward to seeing the joy it will bring our young people this Christmas.”
The Lost Light of Christmas will run at Temple Newsam from November 20 to December 31, turning the historic estate into a winter wonderland.
The trail, which is around one mile long, features work from some of the UK’s leading light artists, alongside special effects, interactive elements and bespoke audio compositions linked by a narrative theme.
More than a dozen illuminations will be on display, along with vintage fairground rides, mulled wine, hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.
Visitors will also be able to explore a Christmas Village with food and drink from Yorkshire artisan street food vendors and bars.
