Leeds nostalgia: A white-out back in 1947

Will we be wading through deep snow this winter?

We certainly did in 1946/47 when Burley Road looked like this and horses drawing supplies struggled along Upper Town St. Bramley.

Gateland Lane, Shadwell was piled high from heavy snow that fell from January to March and it was the same at Bell Lane, Bramley.

One of the coldest winters on record created a hazardous but romantic scene on Beechwood Street, Stanningley.
