Leeds empowerment project marks birthday

Women's Lives Leeds, a partnership of organisations working to empower ladies and girls to lead safer and healthier lives, has marked its first birthday.

The project works with and supports women and girls with complex needs and troubled histories, delivering drop-ins and outreach sessions across the city, and running the Virtual Women’s Centre – an online directory detailing support and services available those who need them. The scheme has already reached over 2,000 women and girls in the past 12 months.

A first birthday party was held at the city’s St George’s Conference Centre earlier this week.
