AA Traffic and Travel news said that an accident had occurred in the "middle of the junction" on the road.

It said: "Partially blocked and very slow traffic due to accident on A65 Kirkstall Road both ways at Viaduct Road.

"Accident had occurred in the middle of the junction."

First Bus has issued a service update which advised that services 33 and 34 are subject to delays in the area.

It apologised for any inconvenience caused.

First Bus tweeted: " SERVICE UPDATE - LEEDS.

"Due to an RTC at Kirkstall Road/Burnley place services 33/34 are currently subject to delays.

"We are sorry for any inconvenience caused."

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called at 11:30 today (5 June) to reports of a road traffic collision on Kirkstall Road, Leeds.

"The collision involved two cars, a black Audi and a blue Ka.

"A man and a woman suffered minor injuries and were treated by ambulance staff at the scene.

"The collision caused disruption on the nearby roads.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any dashcam footage is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting log number 714 of 5 June."
