Full closure on M1 at Garforth after multiple vehicle crash

There is currently a full close in place on the M1 at Garforth after a crash.

Highways Yorkshire confirmed that the M1 from Junction 47 Garforth to Junction 46 Colton is closed southbound.

This is due to a multiple vehicle crash.

West Yorkshire Police and the ambulance service are at the scene.

Highways Yorkshire said at 7.30pm: "M1 south J47 Garforth to J46 Colton.

"Full closure southbound currently in place due to a multiple vehicle RTC.

"West Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance all on scene dealing. Further updates to follow."

Road users are advised to follow the hollow black diamond diversion symbol on road signs.

Driving South, exit the M1 at J47.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto the A656 southbound and proceed along this road for approximately 2 miles to the roundabout with the A63.

At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A63 westbound and proceed along this road for approximately 3 miles to the junction with the M1 J46.

At the roundabout, take the 1st exit to re-join M1 South.
