Police in Leeds issue appeal after man crashes car into tree following suspected medical episode

Police have issued an update after a car crashed into a tree in Leeds when the driver suffered a suspected medical episode.

Police officers on patrol came across the collision on Station Road, Cross Gates, Leeds, at around 1.10pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).

West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with video footage to get in touch.

The crash involved a grey Mazda CX5 which left the road and collided with street furniture and a tree.

The male driver, aged in his 50s, is believed to have suffered a medical episode and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

There was traffic disruption as crews dealt with the incident and an air ambulance landed at the scene.
