Woman, 29, injured after being struck by car after driver got into an argument with her partner in Dewsbury

A 29-year-woman has been hospitalised after being struck by a car which is thought to have been deliberately driven at her in Dewsbury.

The incident happened shortly before 7am on Saturday morning on Chickenley Lane.

The woman was struck by a red Seat Leon and the driver fled the scene before dumping the car.

West Yorkshire Police said: "The woman was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

"Enquiries indicate the car had been deliberately driven at her immediately following an altercation in the street between her partner and the driver.

"The car involved has since been recovered for forensic examination and enquiries are ongoing to trace and arrest the driver.
