West Yorkshire Police arrest 106 drink and drug drivers in just NINE days
More than 100 drivers have been arrested for drink or drug driving in West Yorkshire in just nine days.
West Yorkshire Police's enforcement campaign, #WYPTheCost, is cracking down on drink and drug drivers over the Christmas period.
The Roads Policing Unit had arrested 15 people in just six days, and a total 106 drivers have now been arrested since December 1.
Officers from the Roads Policing Unit tweeted: "Christmas is coming. Think twice before you get behind the wheel.
"Make it a call for a taxi rather than a call to a loved one from custody when under arrest. Drink and drug driving kill."
Last year, West Yorkshire Police made 284 arrests for drink driving and 92 arrests for drug driving throughout December.
The Roads Policing Unit added: "In this day and age how do people still think this is acceptable?"
