Two men have been charged over an incident that left a Leeds police officer seriously injured.

The two men were set to appear before the morning session of Leeds Magistrates Court today (June 3).

It follows an incident on Selby Road on May 31 in which a car was stopped by police.

Paul Harper, 44, of Rockwood Mount, Leeds, was due to appear charged with dangerous driving, causing actual bodily harm, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and theft.

Paul Cameron, 44, of Copperfield View, Leeds, was due to appear charged with theft, assaulting an emergency worker and receiving stolen goods.

A male police officer suffered a serious but not life-threatening injury in the incident on Selby Road and continues to recover.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.
