Suspect arrested as police called to ongoing burglary at Beeston home

Police have made an arrest following a burglary at a house in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police were called to an ongoing burglary in the Beeston area of Leeds on Monday evening.

Community support officers from the South Leeds Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) 'quickly' attended the scene and caught one of the suspects in the act before detaining them.

A suspect was arrested and is currently in custody at Elland Road.

A post on the West Yorkshire Police Leeds South Facebook page on Monday night said: "This evening your local PCSO’s have been alerted to an ongoing burglary of a residential property in the Beeston area.

"They quickly attended at the scene and detained 1 of the suspects caught in the act!

"The suspect was arrested and is currently in custody at Elland Road."
