Specialist road officers break up Leeds 'car meet' events across the city

Shortly before 7pm on Saturday, police received reports of a large number of vehicles gathering in the car park of Sainsbury’s at the Moor Allerton Centre in Leeds.

Officers attended to deal with the situation and the vehicles eventually left the area.

There were further reports of large number of vehicles gathering in Lowfields Road, Leeds, and subsequently at the City South Retail Park, in Tulip Street, Leeds, police said.

District and neighbourhoods officers responded, with support from specialist roads policing officers, to disperse the event, ensure the safety of road users and gather intelligence for further action.

All vehicles were dispersed by 11.30pm, police said.
