Three boys, aged 14, 15 and 16, and a 15-year-old girl were arrested at an address in Raincliffe Grove, East End Park, on Tuesday night on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robberies.

Their arrests followed the robbery of a woman in York Road at about 8.30pm that night and the robbery of a man in New York Street in Leeds city centre at about 6.20pm.

The 16-year-old has now been charged with the New York Street robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.

He was due to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court today (Thursday).

The three others have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives from City and Holbeck division are continuing to investigate other similar street robberies, including one in Marlborough Street and one in Crown Point Road in the city centre in the early hours of Friday, when a man and a woman had mobile phones stolen after being threatened. The man also had a wallet stolen.

In what is currently a separate investigation, officers from North East Leeds division have arrested two boys, aged 15 and 16, over the robbery of a group of teenagers in Temple Newsam Park on Sunday.

Five girls, four aged 15 and one 16-year-old, were with a 15-year-old boy in Temple Newsam park when they were targeted by a gang of five or six teenage boys.

The 16-year-old was threatened with what police believe to be a plastic imitation or ball-bearing gun by the gang, who threatened to shoot her.

The masked robbers stole a number of mobile phones during the incident.

The 15 and 16-year-old boys have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
