Residents disgusted after second arson incident on Swinnow park in less than a week
Swinnow residents have been left disgusted after a second arson incident at a local park in less than a week.
The park on Swinnow Moor was recently installed by Leeds Council.
Last week, the YEP reported on a shocking photograph taken of damage to the park from a fire.Just six days later, a second fire has been set on the park - allegedly using books taken from a nearby 'Free Little Library'.
Residents are in disbelief at the incident.
Yvonne Allman provided a picture of the latest damage to the YEP.
She said: "All the people who use the park are absolutely disgusted.
"We are so angry."
Yvonne said the latest incident had been reported to the police and encourage the community to do the same.
She added: "Hopefully together we can stop it."
Councillor Simon Seary told the YEP the park "brings joy to so many young children" from across the Swinnow estate.
He said: "Once again it’s disappointing to see that a small minority of people can cause damage to a public play park, that brings joy to so many young children from across the estate.
"We would ask if anyone has any information regarding Anti Social Behaviour in the area, that they report it to the police immediately.
