Vile Leeds prisoner sneered 'enjoy your golden shower' after hurling urine at officer

A vile prisoner sneered after squirting urine at an officer who came to his cell.

Ethan Marsden laughed and said: “I hope you enjoyed your golden shower,” after his bodily waste landed on the head and shirt of the officer at HMP Wealstun in Wetherby.

The 27-year-old was jailed at Leeds Crown Court this week after admitting a string of offences, including administering a noxious liquid with an intent to injure.

The court heard that had been on report at the prison in July 2024 because of his disruptive behaviour.

On July 27 he had pressed the buzzer from his cell to get the guard’s attention. When the officer arrived and opened the viewing hatch, Mardens was stood directly behind the door and fired the urine at him.

The officer was uninjured but was left disgusted.

Marsden then refused to be interviewed about the incident.

Prosecutor Nathan Davis said that Marsden had also racially abused a police officer after being arrested in April of 2024.

He led police on a high-speed chase through Huddersfield in July of last year in a stolen car, tried to spit at a police officer after being arrested and also spat in his cell at the police station.

Among the offences he admitted were racially-aggravated harassment, dangerous driving, criminal damage, assault of an emergency worker and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

Marsden, of no fixed address, has 22 previous convictions for 46 offences.

Mitigating, Lily WIldman said Marsden has a possible personality disorder but said he was aware his use of drugs and alcohol “exacerbated” the issue.

She added: “He knows it will be a custodial sentence given his previous convictions and the volume and nature of them.”

Judge Howard Crowson jailed him for 30 months and gave him a three-year driving ban.
