Police scene in place in Hunslet after man is found with serious wound to his arm

A man has been arrested after he was found with a "serious laceration" to his arm in a quiet Leeds street last night (Monday).

West Yorkshire Police were called just before 8pm by the ambulance service, who were attending an incident in Royal Court, Hunslet, where a man had received a deep wound to his arm.

The 29-year-old was taken to hospital.

His injuries are serious but not life threatening.

The man was later arrested on suspicion of offences alleged to have taken place earlier this year, including assaults and possession of an offensive weapon.

A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID via 101 quoting crime reference 13200427024 or online via www.westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat

"Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
