Police officer delivers customer's parcel after Seacroft delivery driver's vehicle is seized

A police officer kindly delivered a parcel to a Leeds resident after the driver who was supposed to be delivering it had their vehicle seized.

East Leeds officers PC Rawson and PC Simpson were on a mobile patrol on Sunday in Seacroft when they stopped a car on Tarnside Drive.

The officers conducted enquiries to see if the delivery driver had business insurance but checks showed the driver did not have any insurance to drive the car.

The vehicle was seized and whilst PC Simpson dealt with the driver for road traffic offences, PC Rawson hand delivered the customer's delivery to ensure they received their order.

A post on the West Yorkshire Police Leeds East Facebook page said: "On Sunday 14th March 2021, PC Rawson and Simpson were on mobile patrol and stopped a vehicle on Tarnside Drive in Seacroft.

"Enquiries were conducted to establish if the delivery driver had business insurance, checks highlighted the driver did not hold any insurance to drive the vehicle and the vehicle was seized.

"Whilst PC Simpson dealt with the driver for Road Traffic offences, PC Rawson kindly hand delivered the customers delivery to ensure they received their order."
