Police launch investigation after firework posted into postbox in Pudsey

Police are investigating after a firework was posted through a postbox in Pudsey.

It happened on Alexandra Road at about 7.45pm on Tuesday, November 17.

Pudsey Councillor Simon Seary said it seemed that all the mail inside the postbox had been destroyed.

In a Facebook post, Coun Seary shared a picture of firefighters at the scene.

He said: "Unfortunately someone has decided to post a firework into the post box on Alexandra Road, it appears that all the mail has been destroyed.

"Thank you to the local resident for informing the services."

Anyone with information which may assist is asked to contact police in Leeds on 101 or by using the options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
