Pervert who performed sex act at window under camera-phone light avoids custody

He admitted two counts of exposure

A pervert who performed sex acts in public view would also shine his camera torch on himself to ensure people would see, a court heard.

Razuan Miah appeared at Leeds Crown Court this week where he admitted two counts of exposure.

Police were called twice in two days to reports that Miah was carrying out the sex acts from a first floor window.

He was arrested but claimed it was lies.

The court was told that Miah had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Mitigating, Mollie Briggs said Miah, now of Rea Drive, Birmingham, had expressed remorse, shame and disgust.

She said: “He knows his behaviour was entirely inappropriate and knows it would have caused distress.

“He is now more mindful of his behaviour. It came at a time of a mental-health crisis.”

The judge, Recorder Craig Hassall KC, opted not to jail him and handed him an 18-month community order with 30 rehabilitation days to complete with probation.

He was also put on the sex offender register for five years.
