An ongoing police incident has closed Neville Street in Leeds city centre.

Police and ambulance were called to Victoria Bridge near the River Aire at 5.44pm over concern for a person's safety.

Officers remain at the scene and the incident is ongoing.

First Bus service 10 is diverting away from the scene and there are traffic delays in the area.

The incident is believed to be unconnected to an ongoing police incident at the Leeds Markets car park where police have been called over concerns for a woman's safety.

Officers are talking to the woman and York Street is closed.
