Nuisance with 300 convictions jailed for persistent Leeds hospital visits
A nuisance with more than 300 convictions to his name has been jailed for ignoring his criminal behavior order (CBO).
John Jarrett was twice caught at St James’s Hospital, which he is banned from attending unless it is a medical emergency.
He was given a five-year CBO in 2023 to stop him entering the city’s two main hospitals and the city centre.

The 62-year-old has breached the order multiple times, Leeds Crown Court heard.
He appeared in court this week over a video link from HMP Leeds where he was being held on remand, having admitted two new breaches.
These were from August 29 last year when he attended St James’s Hospital, then again on October 23.
On the second occasion he was drunk and being aggressive towards security staff. He later claimed it was a medical emergency.
The court heard that homeless Jarrett has 362 offences on his criminal record, including violence, sex offences and repeated breaches.
Mitigating, Martin Morrow said Jarrett is an alcoholic who is “not in good physical health”, who is vulnerable due to his homelessness.
He said Jarrett was “easy prey” for other younger people living on the streets.
Judge Neil Clark acknowledged Jarrett’s problems, but jailed him for 16 months.
