Motorist admits dangerous driving that killed pensioner in Leeds
He will be sentenced a week before Christmas
A motorist has finally admitted driving dangerously when he killed an elderly pedestrian.
Winnifred Hogg died after being struck by Alan Hickman's car in Leeds last year.
Hickman previously admitted causing her death through careless driving, but this was not accepted by the Crown.
The 62-year-old was due to stand trial this month for the more serious charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

He attended Leeds Crown Court this week and was re-arraigned, this time admitting the more serious offence.
Hickman, of Scotchman Lane, Morley, will now return to court on December 18 for sentencing.
The offence carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
Police received a report of a collision involving Hickman’s blue Skoda Rapid and a pedestrian on Harrogate Road between the junctions of Belvedere Road and Belvedere Avenue in Alwoodley at 12.29pm, February 24, 2025.
Emergency services attended and found an 81-year-old Mrs Hogg with serious injuries.
She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
