Adnaan Hussain, 30, went to the woman's home twice and broke a window when he was refused entry.

Leeds Crown Court heard the father-of-four had been out of prison for five days when he committed the new offences.

Robert Galley, prosecuting, said the restraining order, imposed in 2018, banned him from contacting the grandmother after he became possessive and controlling towards her.

The defendant was given a 12-week prison sentence in February this year for breaching the order by carrying out a criminal damage offence at her home last summer.

He was released on March 27 but went to her home in Meanwood on April 1.

The court heard Hussain banged on the door and called her a prostitute.

The victim's daughter answered the door and told him to go away.

Hussain tried to force his way into the house but both women managed to push the door shut.

He then threw a brick through the living room window.

Mr Galley said the victim was isolating at the time due to the coronavirus.

Two days later the defendant went to the victim's house carrying a large bottle of vodka and knocked on the door.

The victim let her dog outside before going to check her CCTV camera.

Hussain started shouting through the letterbox, demanded his clothes back and threatened to throw the bottle at the dog.

In a statement, the victim said that both she and her daughter are anxious and fearful of reprisals.

Hussain, of Providence Court, Thornhill Lees, Dewsbury, pleaded guilty to two counts of breaching a restraining order and one count of criminal damage.

The defendant was arrested and made no comment when interviewed by police.

He claimed the victim had been harassing him in prison.

Hussain has previous convictions for racially aggravated threatening behaviour, affray and harassment.

Glenn Parsons, mitigating, said the woman had contacted Hussain and they had professed their love for each other.

He said: "It is no defence but it does put matters in perspective.

"He has a wife and four children. He should really not be behaving like this.

"He has a wife who has been very patient and is willing to stay with him.

"The relationship with the complainant is now over and he realises he is only going to come off worse."

Mr Parsons said Hussain's personality changed and his life went out of control after he was in a car crash in which he was seriously injured and his friend died.

Hussain was jailed for a 12 months.

Judge Rodney Jameson QC said: "When you come out, concentrate on those who really need you - that is your wife and children."
