Man seriously injured after being stabbed in neck and back 'over a phone' in Leeds

A man remains in hospital after he was stabbed in what is believed to have been a targeted attack in Beeston.

Hunslet and Riverside ward councillor Paul Wray was given details of the attack, which happened just before 5pm yesterday (Saturday), by West Yorkshire Police.

It happened in the ginnel between Abu Bakr and BFC in Dewsbury Road.

Police received a call from the ambulance service to reports a man having been stabbed in the neck and back, according to Coun Wray.

The man was found seriously injured by police and a suspected was arrested shortly after.

Coun Wray wrote on an update on his website: "The scene was secured and a suspect was quickly identified.

"They have been arrested and are in custody.

"It is believed this incident occurred over a dispute about a phone and therefore was a targeted attack.

"The injured party is still in hospital however, their injuries are not believed to be as serious as first thought."
