Man fixing broken van suffers serious injury after M62 Ferrybridge crash

A man thought to have been attending to a broken down van suffered a serious injury after a crash on the M62.

Police were called just before midday to reports of a collision on the M62 close to Junction 33 westbound.

A man in his twenties was struck by a lorry while at a broken down van.

He was taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious leg injuries.

The M62 westbound from Junction 33 was closed for several hours while officers conducted their enquiries.

It had reopened by mid-afternoon.
