Man confirmed dead after serious crash on Gledhow Valley Road in Leeds

Police have confirmed a man has died after being hit by a pink Fiat 500 on Gledhow Valley Road in Leeds.

Emergency crews and an air ambulance were rushed to the scene at about 1.03pm, near the junction with Harrogate Road.

A pedestrian in his sixties was taken to hospital by air ambulance but sadly died from his injuries.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the crash or who may have seen the man or pink Fiat 500 prior to the collision.

Sergeant Carl Quinn of the Major Collision and Enquiry Team, said: “This has clearly been a very serious incident and we are appealing for witnesses to what took place.

“I would ask anyone who we have not already spoken with who saw the collision or who has dashcam footage of it to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team.

"We would also like to speak with anyone who saw the man who died or the car involved just prior to the incident.

“Road closures are expected to be in place for some time and I would urge drivers to bear with us and avoid the area while we conduct necessary enquiries there."
