Man charged over attempted robbery at Leeds post office

A man is due to appear in court today charged over an attempted cash in transit robbery at a post office in Leeds.

Anthony Bryant, of Leopold Street in Chapeltown, has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of an axe in a public place in relation to an incident at Elford Grove Post Office in Harehills Road on Monday, October 21.

The 54-year-old has also been charged with resisting a police constable in the execution of his duty at Leeds General Infirmary later that day.

He has been remanded to appear at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning. (October 23)
