New - suspected stabbing in village of Bramham

Bramham residents have told our reporter of their shock after a bleeding stab victim knocked on doors to get help after an altercation in the small rural village between Leeds and Wetherby

The incident took place on Lyndon Road last night

West Yorkshire Police declined to comment

Eyewitnesses have spoken to our reporter at the scene

A resident of Lyndon Road in Bramham said he was woken up at 1.50am to someone ‘hammering on the door’

He said: “I heard a slump on the door and the victim said he’d been stabbed and needed help.

“I quickly got dressed and went to the garage and the police were already there.

“I gave them a belt and towels then the ambulance turned up and took over.

“He had a bad stab wound in the back of his leg, a gash in the arm and they were concerned that he had head injuries.”

The witness, 69, said he does not believe the victim lives in the Bramham area
