Headingley stabbing: Everything we know so far as police provide update on Leeds incident

A man was rushed to hospital in the early hours of yesterday morning (November 30) after being stabbed outside a shopping precinct in Headingley.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the precinct on Otley Road shortly after midnight and a scene was put in place. An investigation into the incident has been launched and detectives from Leeds District CID are carrying out enquiries to identify the suspect. Below is everything we know so far about the incident, including the latest update provided by West Yorkshire Police.

What happened?

The Yorkshire Ambulance Service alerted West Yorkshire Police at 00:07am on Wednesday, November 30. A male victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries not thought to be life threatening and a cordon was placed around the area. Pictures have also shown police cleaning the pavement outside the British Heart Foundation store.

What have police said?

On Thursday, December 1, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police confirmed an arrest has not yet been made and that enquiries to identify the suspect are being carried out. The victim is still in hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life threatening.
