Four arrested following suspected Leeds drugs lab discovery

“The substances found at the property are not for human consumption and we urge people to avoid buying illicit medication”

Four arrests have been made after a suspected drugs lab was uncovered following warrants in Leeds.

Officers from the Economic Crime Unit carried out a number of warrants at addresses at around 7am on Tuesday, July 21, in the Adel and Wortley areas of Leeds and a lab was found on Whitehall Road.

Three men aged, 46, 44, 38 and a woman, aged 36 have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and the supply of drugs. They have been bailed pending further enquiries.

It’s believed the set-up was producing illicit medication.

Nine firearms were also seized in a second warrant on Farrar Lane.

Detective Inspector Chris Lord of the Economic Crime team who is the operational lead for the operation, said: “We take a proactive approach to tackling organised criminality and we know the supply of drugs fuels crime and violence in our communities.

“The substances found at the property are not for human consumption and we urge people to avoid buying illicit medication.”

He added: “It is advised that the public avoid the current sites while officers gather evidence but continue to report anything they see in their communities that could be suspicious.”
