Emergency services are continuing to search for a man who fell in the River Aire in Leeds.

Police received reports of a man seen entering the water at about 4.20am on Monday, November 2.

The search for the man has been ongoing throughout the day.

Officers are now increasingly concerned for his welfare.

DI Richard Coulton of Leeds CID, said: “We are urgently trying to trace this man – the river is particularly swollen at the moment given the recent weather conditions and we are doing all we can to try and locate him.”

Officers would like to appeal to anyone with information about the incident including anyone who saw the male enter the water.
