An 83-year old woman has died after being hit by a reversing car.

Barbara Slingsby, from Bradford, was hit by a car at the junction of Westfield Lane and Cockshott Lane in Idle on Sunday.

She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment however has since passed away from her injuries.

The woman was hit by a car at the junction of Westfield Lane and Cockshott Lane.

The Major Collision and Enquiry Team (MCET) is continuing to appeal for witnesses to the accident which took place just before 1pm on Sunday July 31.

Initial enquiries suggest that the vehicle was reversing when the crash occurred.
