Their crimes include a dangerous sexual predator who picked up a woman that thought he was her pre-booked taxi and then raped her.
Among those who also faced justice at Leeds Crown Court this year was a a drug-dealing gunman who shot an innocent bystander during a drive-by attack outside a petrol in Wakefield.

13. Omarie Adams
Predatory paedophile Omarie Adams enticed a 13-year-old schoolgirl into his car in broad daylight, despite her being fearful. He drove her to premises in Leeds where he sexually abused her for a period of two hours. The 34-year-old, of Second Avenue, Armley, was handed a 13-year custodial sentence with a seven-year extended licence period and put on the sex offender register for life. | WYP
14. Jeffrey Fisher
Ageing pervert Jeffrey Fisher was handed a 12-year sentence this week after he was found guilty of raping a young girl more than 40 years ago. It was heard that Fisher, who is now 64, had groomed the youngster in the early 1980s in the Wakefield area. Judge Alex Menary said he was “dangerous” offender, giving him a lifelong sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) and putting him on the sex offender register for life. | WYP

15. Michael Doherty
Michael Doherty received a life sentence with a minimum term of 33 years after pleading guilty to murdering 21-year-old Courtney Angus. The 38-year-old, of Norfolk Street in Batley, confessed to the killing after being arrested following a knife-wielding rampage in Dewsbury town centre. A forensic post-mortem found Courtney Angus also had injuries indicative of a serious sexual assault. | WYP
16. Darren Gibson and Rebecca Kirton
Brother and sister Darren Gibson and Rebecca Kirton who systematically abused young girls they groomed at children’s discos have had their sentences extended after being described as “predators of the worst kind”. Gibson was sentenced to 12 years to run consecutively to his previous 24-year sentence. Kirton had eight years added to her previous 12-year sentence. | WYP

Dangerous sexual predator Rashid Kwabena Boachie has been jailed for 10 years and six months, with a five-year extended licence period and put on the sex offender register for life after he picked up a woman that thought he was her pre-booked taxi and then raped her. 18. David Taylor, Mark Fellows and Lee Newell
David Taylor has been given a whole life order, a sentence his two accomplices Mark Fellows and Lee Newell, were already serving after they were found guilty of stabbing child killer Kyle Bevan to death in his cell at HMP Wakefield before tucking him up in bed and leaving him to bleed out. All three were already in prison for murder. Bevan, 33, was serving a life sentence for murdering his partner’s two-year-old daughter, Lola James. | WYP
