Here are 27 of the most violent criminals who have been locked up in Leeds in 2026 so far.
Their crimes include a dangerous sexual predator who picked up a woman that thought he was her pre-booked taxi and then raped her.
Among those who also faced justice at Leeds Crown Court this year was a a drug-dealing gunman who shot an innocent bystander during a drive-by attack outside a petrol in Wakefield.

1. Marlin Rigby
Marlin Rigby, who was found guilty of attempted murder following a six-day trial trial in October, was given an extended 27-year jail sentence this week. A judge at Leeds Crown Court told Rigby that he was remorseless and a danger to the public after he rained repeated blows down on a man’s head with a machete after the man threatened to contact the authorities and tell them Rigby had been selling drugs. | WYP
2. Cleveland Wyatt
Drug dealing pervert Cleveland Wyatt was jailed for 21 years and put on the sex offender register for life after he used a vulnerable woman as a sex object in return for drugs, then arranged for a group of 10 men to abuse her. The vile 62-year-old gave the woman crack cocaine and then forced her into degrading sex acts with others. | WYP
3. Henok Bekel
Thug Henok Bekel has been handed a 23-year jail sentence following a vicious assault in which he tied a woman up and beat her mercilessly. The 30-year-old, now of Preston Road, Birmingham, attacked the woman when he was living in Beeston, punching her about the head and strangling her. 4. Adrian Frost
Drug dealer Adrian Frost was sentenced to at least 27 years in prison after being found guilty murdering 26-year-old Connor Batty, who was part of an armed gang looking to steal Frost’s cannabis farm at his home on Barnsley Road, Hemsworth, in September last year. The 61-year-old shot Batty in the chest with a round from an illegal 12-bore sawn-off shotgun from a short distance away and jokingly asked him if he needed an aspirin. | WYP
5. Jamie Beckett
Wakefield man Jamie Beckett demanded for children as young as five to be abused and raped for as little as £6 a time. The vile 37-year-old was caught after those responsible for the abuse were uncovered by investigators in the United States, and Beckett’s Paypal account was found to have sent multiple amounts of cash. He was given a 16-year custodial sentence, with a seven-year extended licence period. | NCA
6. Alfie Milburn
Alfie Milburn was handed an extended sentence of 14 years this week after being found guilty of the manslaughter of 19-year-old Harry Abbott. Milburn, who recently turned 20, was at his home in Seacroft in October last year when he was ambushed by a masked machete-wielding gang that included Mr Abbott, who he fatally stabbed while under attack.
