He had also stored almost 1,000 images in a personal “library”, involving children as young as two being abused in the most horrific way, Leeds Crown Court heard.
Judge Simon Batiste jailed him for two years this week and told him: “The message must go out that if you distribute such vile images, then custody will follow that. Some were of very young children. It makes it more serious that you distributed them.”](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2023/12/24/13/51/Nathan%20Waddell.jpg?crop=3:2&width=640)

![A paranoid partner who became fixated with his girlfriend cheating forced his way into her home and threatened her with an axe.
Oliver Docherty was so suspicious of the woman that he even wanted a paternity test after their child was born, Leeds Crown Court was told.
Having been ordered to stay away from her, he went to her home in Farnley and climbed in through an open window, picking up the axe and pushing her against the wall. He lifted it above his head and said: “If you don’t tell me the truth, I’m going to stick it straight through your head.”
Prosecutor Robert Galley said they were in a relationship for around three years, but he later became verbally and physically abusive.
On October 1 at around 7am she heard banging coming from downstairs so went down to find Docherty at the back door. She threatened to call the police but he ordered her to let him in. When she opened the window to speak with him, he quickly climbed through.

![Drug addict Daniel Hooks stole chocolate, meat, fabric softener, wine and gin worth a total of £600 between October 27 and November 13. Shops targeted included Sainsbury’s in Hyde Park, Morrisons and McColl’s in Woodhouse and Co-op in Headingley. He even stole candle holders from Hyde Park GP Surgery.
The 34-year-old was eventually detained on November 16 when patrolling officers spotted him on Woodhouse Street, Woodhouse, and recognised that he was wanted, prosecutor Jordan Millican told the court.
They found a flick knife in his pocket after handcuffing him. During his interview he told officers he was “stealing to survive” and carried the knife for protection.
The judge, Recorder Andrew Haslam KC told Hooks: “You are a drug addict and the system can’t help you in its present form.”
He told him he must face a mandatory six-month jail sentence at least for his second knife offence. He gave him eight months in total.](https://www.thestar.co.uk/jpim-static/image/2023/12/24/13/47/Daniel%20Hooks.jpg?crop=3:2&width=640)

![An angry father put police officers through a 15-minute stand-off in his own home, after arming himself with two knives and threatening to stab them.
An officer was forced to grab a chair to protect himself after he became trapped in Leon Hemmingway’s home in Wakefield, while another officer was outside trying to force his way in.
Hemmingway had even lunged at the officer trying to get in, swinging one of the knives at him, Leeds Crown Court heard.
The officers had tried to arrest the 38-year-old for breaching a restraining order taken out by his former partner.
He had ignored the order not to contact the woman, and was angry over what he deemed to be a lack of access to their daughter.

But Leeds Crown Court heard there had been an element of “cuckooing” – when criminals take over the home of a vulnerable person.
Police had gone to 49-year-old Crosbie’s property on August 15 on an unrelated matter. The flat had been turned into a crack den, the court heard.
