Their crimes include “brazen” shoplifting sprees and arson.
Also sentenced this week was a violent bully who strangled his ex-girlfriend until she blacked out - after she tried to leave him.

1. Nathan Stokes
Nathan Stokes, 31, of Gordon Street, Wakefield, was jailed for 21 months after admitting a count of intentional strangulation. He strangled his ex-girlfriend twice in an incident on June 3, after she tried to leave him. | West Yorkshire Police

2. John Eastman
John Eastman, 42, of Wesley Street, Wakefield, was jailed for 20 months after admitting 17 counts of theft from a shop and 10 offences of breaching a court order. He targeted numerous stores in a shoplifting spree in July, including Sainsbury's Local on Smawthorne Lane in Castleford, from which he took £500 worth of goods. | West Yorkshire Police

3. David Gray
David Gray, 50, was jailed for 18 years and eight months after admitting committing two serious sexual assaults against a young girl. The offences took place between 2020 and 2023 and were reported to police in January this year. | West Yorkshire Police

4. Tenelle Clarke
Tenelle Clarke, 26, of Carlton View, Sheepscar, was jailed for two years and eight months after admitting arson and intentional strangulation. He torched his girlfriend's possessions and filmed it on his phone for her in April, later strangling her with a dressing gown cord. | West Yorkshire Police

5. Connor Churchill
Connor Churchill, 24, of Clog Mill Gardens, Selby, who had been living in Micklefield, was jailed for five years after admitting two counts of arranging a child sex offence and three counts of making indecent images of child abuse. 6. Danny Field
Danny Field, 22, of Alexandra Road, Burley, was jailed for 26 months after admitting dealing in Class A drugs. The court heard that the former glass fitter lost his job when his boss went bankrupt, so turned to selling cocaine which he stashed at his family home. | West Yorkshire Police/National World
