Brave Leeds schoolgirl Baila given special gift

A six-year-old girl from Moortown has been given a special therapy tricycle to help with her mobility.

Baila Lester was born with a rare combination of two disabilities and has undergone several operations to correct the positions of her legs and feet.

The bike, which will help with Baila’s physical rehabilitation, has been donated thanks to a grant from the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation.

Trustee Richard Stroud said: “It is marvellous to see Baila able to get around on her own.

“Not only is the tricycle an important part of her physical rehabilitation but it is something she really loves so we have achieved two benefits with one grant!”
