Body found in Temple Newsam woods - believed to be missing Leeds man Stephen Jarvis

Stephen Jarvis, aged 54, from Halton, was reported missing on Friday evening and police launched an urgent appeal.

Mountain rescue volunteers, who were supporting the police search for him, found the body in woodland at Temple Newsam on Sunday afternoon.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Formal identification is yet to be confirmed, it is believed to be that of Mr Jarvis.

"His family have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner’s Office has been notified."
