82-year-old cyclist ‘seriously injured’ after being hit by a car

It happened on the A65 New Road at about 10.50am today (Friday) when a blue Ford Fiesta hit a pedal cycle outside Morrisons petrol station.

The rider, an 82-year-old man from Bradford, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It follows confirmation of the incident earlier today, when emergency services, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance attended the scene to help the injured man.

Following the road’s closure, traffic jams built up on the A65, with police urging motorists not to use the area. It is understood the road has since reopened.
