36ft wooden cross installed on Otley Chevin

The Easter tradition has seen the cross erected on Surprise View since 1969.

It is put in place two weeks before Easter and removed a fortnight later. The only time the event has not taken place was in 2001, when foot and mouth disease restrictions prevented the ceremony from going ahead.
