Adam, at the Corn Exchange building in Call Lane, said: "It feels great to be here. We didn't open on June 15, we waited until July 1. We wanted to make sure that everybody was going to be as safe as possible.

"We are an iconic building of Leeds and we wanted to be open. Everybody is over the moon that we are back, occupying a really unique space, with our offerings, our independents.

" It was really important for us to be here and open as soon as we could."Everybody is positive about the future. We are a collective, a family and we are all in this together."Obviously, it's going to be a challenge for everybody, but it is important for us to be the best that we can be, my independents, the best that they can be and the city, to be the best that it can be."It will thrive again. That is a definite."What's really good about Leeds is that we have all come together as a collective, especially in the retail environment.

"So all the centres, we talk and work on plans together, constantly. That's been a real positive about this situation. There is a sense of community, coming out of a terrible situation."I think it also has to be noted that Leeds City Council, LeedsBID and all the other sectors, like hospitality, want to do this together and work to a positive future."Leeds is really good at being together. That's the strength of our city."
