Leeds’ Harewood House to become a canine kingdom for DogFest 2025

Harewood House has seen its fair share of distinguished guests over the centuries.

But next weekend the real VIPs (Very Important Pooches) are taking over.

From pugs in bow ties to miniature dachshunds in flat caps, the Leeds stately home’s ground are set to be transformed into a canine kingdom of its own for the return of DogFest.

The festival for dog lovers and their canine companions celebrates the special bond between dogs and their owners and sees over 150,000 dog lovers enjoy a weekend of festival fun at some of the country’s most beautiful stately venues.

First held in 2014, the event has grown into a nationwide series across seven locations - including Harewood House on September 13 and 14.

There will be a variety of activities as well as expert-led talks on canine health, training and wellbeing.

Standard daily entry is £17.50, with free parking included, while children under 11 and dogs go free.

This year features a new Makers Market showcasing artisan products from local businesses as well as a new live stage with flyball, scent work and a roaming circus troupe.

DogFest event director, Tess Drew said: “We are working extremely hard to ensure we deliver a great experience for all our DogFest family – canine and human.

“There will be all the familiar exciting happenings and experiences at each event as you would expect but we’ve added a few new ones which will make DogFest into even more of a dog lover’s paradise.”
